According to ancient Chinese beliefs, the earth has the mythical dragon residing in it. This dragon can be beneficient when peaceful and full of fury when enraged. One of the goals of Feng Shui is to live in harmony with the dragons of the land. Dragons symbolize the power of the earth and the natural forces. |

There are big dragons and little dragons. One old saying cautions against living on the dragons's head -- places like volcanos or sacred, powerful sites. The dragon's tail is also risky which could be interpreted as landslides or earthquake faults -- places that move too easily. The dragon's vein is also difficult. These places are the canyons where the wind and water rush down and the fire rushes up. The best places are on the dragon's back -- foothills and rolling farmland. By honoring the dragon, feeding the dragon, and living in harmony with the dragon, you virtually guarantee good luck. |
